What Are the Symptoms of Arthritis?
Osteoarthritis,
the most common form of arthritis that affects any part of your
body.
You will feel joint pain and progressive stiffness without
noticeable swelling, chills, or fever during normal activities.
This may be your first warning of the gradual onset symptoms of
osteoarthritis.
You may have been experiencing these symptoms for quite some
time and the pain has reached such severity that it's disabling.

Rheumatoid
arthritis -
another common form of arthritis - you will feel
painful swelling, inflammation, and stiffness in the
fingers, arms, legs, and wrists occurring in the same
joints on both sides of your body, especially on
awakening.
While
these photos clearly show how severely arthritis has
affected your hands, it can also affect other areas of
your body causing severe, chronic pain. |

Osteoarthritis
(degenerative joint disease)
can be a result from
trauma to the joint, infection of the joint, or age and can
affect any part of your body. With
Osteoarthritis, the
cartilage around the joint wears out and causes the joint to rub
against each other, creating inflammation and pain.
Spinal
osteoarthritis can lead to lost flexibility, bone spurs
(osteophytes), irritated nerves, back pain or spinal stenosis,
and sciatica symptoms. If you've ever experienced sciatica
symptoms, your sciatic nerve being pinched or irritated, you
know this is a pain that will take a grown man to the ground.
Other
arthritis forms are
rheumatoid arthritis,
psoriatic arthritis, and
autoimmune diseases in which the body attacks itself.
In most cases,
we can help control the pain of arthritis with a combination of
medicine,
various therapies and overall health maintenance.
